My love for skirts and all things flowy, and pleated like this dress, is a direct result of the heat wave we are experiencing here in midwestern suburbia. I grew up in California where it was definitely hot, but this humidity is so much worse, it almost makes you yearn for just one cold Chicago winter’s day. But just one.
This outfit makes me feel like a little bit of a flower child, which is a mood I am currently feeling. I also like how the denim jacket toughens up the feminine dress a bit. I think Jessica Alba said that in an interview recently, and I then internalized it and created this look.
