Black and Tan

Good morning!

Here I styled my Lela Rose for Target blouse with some black ankle pants and a black long sleeved blouse. Did I mention it is finally cold outside? I actually wore the shirt underneath because I knew I would be cold (I am *such* a mom), but then I liked the layered look even better than the blouse alone!

You have to play around with clothes to figure out what you like best. I’d also recommend taking pictures of yourself – no one needs to see them but you – but it will help you see what looks good on you, and what colors really work for you.

I learned to really love colors when I started noticing my pictures in bright or white clothing. I think it is something about the dark hair, dark skin, that the colors just work better with. I don’t think an LBD in the traditional sense would really be my best bet for a night out, more like a little beige dress for me.
All that being said, here I am wearing mostly black, not sure if I was influenced by the New Yorkers I saw during my recent trip? I love this blouse which is a silk blend – it was such a great deal from Target!
P.S. I got my hair done. You didn’t notice? Probably because I do the SAME thing every time 🙂 I just can’t get myself to chop it off, though I get the itch to do it about once a day. I just remember all of the awkward years of growing out a short bob cut- not cute!
Have a great day – thanks for visiting! I love hearing from you so please feel free to email me any time with your thoughts and comments. zahra {at} lovezahra {dot} com. I already have some future blog post ideas from your emails and can’t wait to post them!
