Even though I’d love to stay warm by wearing head-to-toe sweats and my beat up fur lined Uggs circa 2005, I resist the urge and layer up with staple separates instead. A heavy parka layered over a long-sleeved dress, paired with some booties and socks is perfect for a chilly day. If it gets too cold to go bare-legged, I’d simply throw on a pair of jeans. I’m surprised at just how many times I’ve already worked all three of these pieces into my outfits this fall – the parka, striped dress, and booties are all on my must-have list.
Since I’ve stacked both wrists with jewelry, and I’ve got a hat, sunglasses, and belt – I decided to skip out on all other accessories – like a necklace, rings, or big earrings. It’s so easy to go overboard with jewelry, taking a look from classy to tacky really fast. I try to practice the Coco Chanel rule to always look in the mirror before leaving the house, and take off one accessory. For me though, its more like taking off five! #Jewelryhoarder
