Black + Grey

I don’t usually wear all black, something inside me feels like I’m taking the easy way out and I could try a little harder with my outfit. Also, I feel it is a look reserved for models, corporate executives, adolescent rebels, and of course, New Yorkers.

So when I do go without color, or technically with a color (black) that completely absorbs the light so that it is void of color to the eye, I love to vary the textures to make it interesting. This top from Zara caught my eye because of the sheer panel sleeve, and I added some patent leather booties to pop against the faded black pants. This scarf from Forever 21 is about five years old, and doubles as a blanket when I go camping. I love the frilled edges, and though it takes me about fifteen minutes to put it on properly, it is worth it when I’m warm and cozy on a snowy winter day. Oh, and I did sneak a tiny bit of color in…

Now back to toggling between I Am Britney Jean and The Sound of Music. I couldn’t take any more football today so I’m going full-on girly girl!
