Fashion Week was a whirlwind as usual, but it was a lot of fun and my head is full of inspiration and ideas for Spring. I plan on taking some time to write up my thoughts, so expect that in a bit! Check out my instagram @zahra_sandberg for some snaps of the trip!
One of the highlights of attending Fashion Week was definitely meeting so many of my blogger friends in real life, and of course getting to spend time with my best girlfriends who all happen to live in NYC.
I was also interviewed by a news crew – they said they were doing a piece about emerging fashion designers – and they asked me how I liked all of these designers’ shows, and I just kept apologizing saying I hadn’t heard of them. It turns out it was actually a skit for Jimmy Kimmel Live, trying to catch people pretending to love designers that don’t exist. I just thank God I was honest!
For now, I will stick to sharing what I wore all week, which was just as important to me as actually attending the fashion shows. The week began with sweltering hot weather, so wearing most of my planned outfits was simply out of the question. I made the mistake of wearing my leather pants last year during fashion week when it was extremely hot, and after a day of that I vowed to never choose fashion over comfort again!
On that note, there were plenty of people wearing fall despite the heat, what I loved in particular- tons of leather, fur, and heavy knits.
I decided to go with a basic whisper thin white cotton button-down and this adorable skirt from J.Crew. I knew I would be meeting my friends for the Charity Water Instameet at Central Park right after a full day of shows, so I needed to wear something I could walk around in all day (I did swap out the heels for some slightly more appropriate Converse Chucks though).
More of my MBFW outfits to come the rest of this week…its great to be home!
