The morning of my first day of shows, my native New Yorker pals wore long johns while I donned a skirt sans tights, much to their horror. I shrugged them off reminding everyone I am from Chicago, and therefore can handle far worse. I didn’t realize that I would need to walk to three separate shows and as a result suffer major frostbite deep down to my core, due to major traffic jams and a very tight show schedule. I truly believe sometimes fashion>function is necessary, as I have been waiting to wear my thrifted denim skirt for weeks since I first laid eyes on the Stella McCartney version, so I still think it was worth it.
About that frostbite, it was nothing a few hours in fetal position in front of a space heater wouldn’t cure!
