Light Neutrals

Sacramento in Spring is pretty much like summer in Chicago, and It is always good to wear light colors and layers to keep cool, so this was an easy outfit choice during my trip. Also, this neutral palette thing is seriously my uniform lately! I just love how the light colors contrast with my dark hair and skin – contrast is what really draws the eye so if you have an outfit that you think is just okay, try to wear something that is opposite of your own coloring, or add an accessory on the opposite end of the color wheel, that does the same trick!

I could have packed a little smarter and brought more pants that weren’t denim, but this time around I packed my bags quickly and without my usual fuss so I didn’t even think about it. Don’t judge- but usually when I travel, I try on complete outfits and photograph them so I can refer to the pictures for ideas during the trip. It is a lifesaver for when you have a full itinerary and a full suitcase and you don’t want to start from scratch. As for jewelry, I typically bring an entire jewelry organizer, but this time I got by with just one pair of earrings, one ring, and two necklaces. I have to say it was sort of liberating traveling with so few items, I may have to try this more often!

Thanks for visiting and have a great short week! xx
