Visiting California is always something I cherish, since it is where I grew up and spent my formative years. I love to find new places to visit every time I go, and this time I went, we took a day to go to the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley so that Adam could have a little Science fun and learn a thing or two. He was really into the pin wall and the interactive videos. Right outside of the building is the most amazing view of the Bay and the city of San Francisco – I couldn’t help but snap a few pictures!
Some other fun things to do when in Berkeley, stop by the Berkeley City Club for lunch and a tour of the place c – it is gorgeous – called the “Little Castle” designed by famed Hearst Castle Architect Julia Morgan. It’s a hotel, restaurant, and event space. I’ve decided if I ever renew my wedding vows, I am going to do it there!
If you are a fan of Indian food, definitely visit Vik’s Chaat Corner for some Samosa Chole Chaat, Dahi Papadi, or even real lunch food like Biryani. Don’t forget the dessert – the Falooda is on the top of my list. For some shopping, take a trip down to the 4th Street Shops, which include some really cute boutiques, a great toy store, and some of my regular favorite shops like Anthropologie.
Every Bay Area local knows that layering is absolutely key since the temperature can fluctuate wildly throughout the day. I wore my closet staples: double denim, flats and a cardigan, and added a large tote bag so I could toss in everything from my DSLR camera to extra snacks for Adam. When you are living out of a suitcase it is so important to pack things that are easy to throw on without a lot of fuss. I packed my suitcase so quickly I even surprised myself! Now if only the unpacking could be that easy…
