A Tea Party with Tea India

One of my fondest memories as a child was when I was given the honor to serve tea to our guests. I remember practicing by replaying the scene in my mind, being extremely careful not to spill or wobble while walking, and imagining just how much I would be impressing everyone with my serving skills. Tea was a staple in any self-respecting South Asian household, and having a tea party was a common occurrence.

So when the opportunity arose to collaborate with Tea India, I immediately thought of hosting a tea party of my own and inviting some of my best girlfriends to join me, and I’m so happy I did. To be completely honest, I’ve always been more of a coffee drinker, but ever since I tried the different flavors of Tea India’s tea, I have switched out my mid-morning and afternoon coffee break for tea, and I find it keeps me from feeling jittery or sluggish – something I often feel after drinking too much coffee. Also, if I am craving something sweet after a meal, I’ll have a cup of tea instead – the cardamom chai has a sweetness to it that really curbs the sugar craving.

For the tea party, I set out a variety of Tea India teabags, so that each guest could choose her favorite. We had Masala Chai, Cardamom Chai (my fave), Orange Pekoe Black Tea, and Ginger Chai.  It was so nice to catch up with the girls and chat about everything from Global Politics to The Kardashians, and we all vowed to have more tea parties again soon.

I wanted to really set the scene so I teamed up with 3 Girls Party Decor to make my dining room fit for the most elegant tea party. They brought everything from tablecloths to flowers, and I was beyond thrilled with the results. Stay tuned for a before and after video on the transformation…
