Five Spring Must-Haves

We have been blessed with some amazing weather in Chicago the past couple of days! It is the only thing keeping me from going completely crazy my last few days of being pregnant. I could be ready to start running off my list of aches and pains and then I feel that warm sun and completely forget it all. My mom is here from California so I tell her she must have brought it along with her.  I wore this outfit with her the other day to shop for some key ingredients for some dishes she plans to cook up for me to help during my recovery process. Mom’s are the best aren’t they?

After having a baby myself, I definitely appreciate what my own mom went through raising us, since I grew up in a family of seven. When I was younger I constantly craved my own space and privacy, and kind of resented the fact that my parents didn’t think about my personal preferences during their family planning discussions.

But now I see the world differently, and I love the fact that I have multiple siblings with whom I can turn to for help, call to chit chat, or even air out my grievances without receiving any judgement in return. I’m glad that Adam will now finally have his own sibling, God Willing, to be able to do the same.

For today’s post, I’ve teamed up with Banana Republic to share five of my must have items for Spring. These are all things that are chic and worth investing in because they never really go out of style.

First – Military Jacket – (on sale 40% off!) I love this one from Olivia Palermo’s Spring picks from Banana Republic. It has a feminine sleeve detail that makes it really fresh and updated for now.

Second – Neutral Flats -(on sale 40% off!) Flat shoes are a must in my opinion, but these are a little extra special because of the bow and scallop detail. I love the feminine touches, and again I know it will work with almost everything I will wear.

Third – Distressed Denim – Still a staple I won’t quit – a great pair of denim with some distressing makes any outfit less stuffy and more relaxed.

Fourth – A great pair of Sunglasses – For those no sleep days – whether it is from partying all night or feeding baby all night, the right sunglasses are a lifesaver when you don’t want the world telling you ‘you look tired’ – which, by the way is something you should never tell anyone, ever. I personally love Ray-Ban brand- I’ve had this pair for years and it is still as hot as it was the day I bought them.

Five – A quality bag – I like to invest in great bags that I get a lot of use out of. Not only ones that will be brought out a few times a year on special occasions, though every girl should probably have one of those if it fits her lifestyle. Side note: I borrowed this bag from mom, but now it is on my own wish list!
