Back To School Shopping With Staples (and Brian Urlacher!)

Summer is coming to an end and that means it is time to go back to school! I’ve always loved this time of year, the Fall season begins, my birthday is in September, and a new school year for this social butterfly meant meeting new friends and having a lot of fun. Also one of the only occasions where my frugal parents would let me splurge and buy anything I wanted was going back to school shopping. Did I need the pink sparkly mechanical pencils to do my best handwriting? Of course I did. They believed, as do I, that education is priceless.

Which is why I am so excited to announce my partnership with Staples. Staples has everything you could possibly need for back to school shopping in one place, as well as in-store experts to help you shop stress-free. Now, I get to relive my childhood love of back to school shopping through Adam. I absolutely love a fresh pack of sharpened pencils, the smell of a new box of crayons, and new untouched notebooks full of possibilities. I want Adam to feel the same excitement I had when I was a kid, shopping for everything he needs to be prepared for a new school year. He loves having the responsibility of choosing his favorite lunch box, pencils, and everything else on his supply list.

It is so meaningful to work with Staples because they have a long history of giving back to teachers and families in need, so I feel good that my purchase is helping others who aren’t able to afford the supplies they need to get the best education possible.

For the fifth year in a row, Staples is partnering with DonorsChoose.org, the leading platform for giving to public schools, started by a teacher from the Bronx back in 2000. Teachers across America use the site to create projects requesting resources their students need, and donors give to the projects that inspire them. Anyone can donate in-store and online to schools in your community – it’s so easy!

On Wednesday, August 15th, let’s go back-to-school shopping together at Staples located at 111 N Wabash Ave! I will certainly be there and Hall of Famer, Brian Urlacher will be there as well! It’ll be a special event where local schoolteachers from DonorsChoose.org will receive flash-funding for their classroom projects, as well as a meet and greet with Brian Urlacher! See you there – don’t forget your little one’s back to school shopping list.

  • Peut Etre means ‘perhaps’ in French ~ i love it because it reminds me that anything is possible ❤️ (its also my answer whenever my kids ask me to buy them something 🙃)
  • A statement blazer is never not a good idea 💥 mine is thrifted but just for YOU ALL this time I sourced quite a few designer resale blazers that are equally amahzing and linked them on the ‘shop’ page of the blog - (in a variety of sizes) enjoy!
  • Just hit publish on a new blog post sharing my Living Room makeover! We decided we’re moving right after I started this project, so I didn’t do everything I had planned (saving that for the new place!) but nevertheless, I did zhuzh it up quite a bit! Hope you like ❤️ {Link to post in my profile}
  • Happy Mother’s day from me and baby Soph! I’m going to be so sad to leave her nursery when we move - if you want to see a tour check out the link in my profile or search ‘nursery reveal’ on the blog 💕 (p.s. she looks so teeny without hair doesn’t she?) #mothersday
  • IG vs. Reality - house hunting edition. Was trying to take a pic with Sophia by this adorable entry at a house we toured. I ended up bribing her with my bag 😂Swipe to see what the other 373626 pics look like... I always wear slip on shoes and comfortable clothes for home shopping because it’s stressful enough as it is - fun too though 💕{what I’m wearing or similar on the ‘shop’ page of the blog}
  • Been so busy with house hunting and fasting I forgot to say Ramadan Mubarak to all who celebrate! I’m fasting after two years off (first being pregnant, then nursing) so it was scary at first but I’m pleasantly surprised how easy it has been! Not yelling at my kids has probably been the hardest part tbh 😂 Here’s a pic @annieswift snapped of me while our Uber driver patiently waited and watched from outside lol
  • Going out house hunting today! Are you guys into move-in ready homes, fixer uppers you can renovate to your taste, or brand new construction you help design?? I’m leaning towards the fixer upper myself!
  • New new in thanks to @basimmichelle just in time for Ramadan and Eid! 💕 (how gorgeous is the embroidery on the pants 😍) also going to do some much needed Spring cleaning my closet today ~ wish me luck! What are you all up to this weekend??
  • Wondering how late is *too* late to mail out thank you cards...I’ve had a stack signed and sealed (from multiple birthdays) waiting for stamps for longer than I care to admit 🙈 🙈 thoughts???
