When Holly from Cosmetics 4 Less contacted me about doing a guest post, I was excited because I love everything makeup and beauty related! I am especially interested in what is hot right now!

Bright Neon
Perhaps one of the most exciting looks on the spring/summer 2013 catwalks was a colour pop of bright neon, worn on either the eyes or lips. One of the most striking versions of this look was the bright matte lipstick seen on a number of runways. On the Giles catwalk the key beauty look was bright fuchsia lips in a matte finish.
To achieve the look yourself the key is to keep the rest of your face subtle and pared down (you want it to be a pop of colour so keep it to one area only). In order for the lips to really stand out but still look up-to-date (and to stop it looking too 80s) make sure that you keep the finish matte and not shiny.

Go back to the 60s
If there is one decade you need to be channelling this spring it has to be the 60s – so think doe eyes, bold brows and nude lips from the Marc Jacobs catwalks or for a glam evening look go for great lashes and glossy full on pouts. This is a look you can have a lot of fun with.

Sugary pinks
Pink was definitely the colour of spring 2013 and if the bright fuchsia lips at Giles seem too much you could try a sugary pink lips or the shell like colours that were seen at Chanel. Pink is a really versatile shade so there really is a lip colour to suit any complexion and it’s a great way to channel a key spring 2013 look.

Classic red
While it looked like pink could be the predominant colour on the spring catwalks that all changed at shows like Burberry, Prada, Missoni, Oscar de la Renta, Jean Paul Gaultier and Jonathan Saunders where red lips in varying shades were seen on the runways. What’s more, there is a red shade to suit everybody from the crimson hues seen at Burberry or the matte reds seen at Prada. Missoni and Oscar de la Renta opted for pinkier shades. However, if you are looking for a dramatic lip then look to Jean Paul Gaultier where the models wore a classic red power lip, or the deep black cherry red of Jonathan Saunders.
Go Matte
When it comes to the finish of your lips it has to be matte this spring. We’ve seen that matte fuchsia lips were massive at Giles but matte was seen everywhere from crimson shades at Burberry to Missoni where the look was all about matte bold corals. So if you are going to go bold with your lip colour make sure it is matte.
So now for my big surprise for you all…I have lined up some of my favorite bloggers to guest post while I escape from the cold for a bit and vacation in Hawaii. I am sure you are going to love all of them as much as I do! I’ll be posting pics via instagram so that you don’t miss me too much!
