I just love a great pencil skirt, it is incredibly figure flattering, and especially so if you are pear shaped. Another bonus is it never goes out of style. The only problem is that a fitted waist can be a little less than comfy, especially when you are planning on celebrating the holidays by eating and drinking more than you have done all year. My answer to that – this skirt from Topshop. The skirt has a pretty print and an almost velvety texture.
It is stretchy fabric, but it doesn’t look like a tube dress circa 2000, what I used to refer as my ‘going out’ dress (I cringe as I type the words). I paired the fitted skirt with a loose fitting blouse that is actually a high-low (high in front, low in back) and would also be perfect worn untucked with skinny jeans.
