Weekend Style in Milwaukee

You know how the only time you do anything cool in the city you live in is when you have guests visiting you from out of town? At least that is how I’ve been most of my life, rarely taking time to visit the touristy spots. But I am going to try and change that and plan more stay-cations – it’s fun to get out of the house and change up the scene once in a while. This is what I wore when discovering Milwaukee for the first time this past weekend. We had a ton of fun staying at the Iron Horse Hotel, a really unique boutique hotel that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. I will post some pictures of the hotel later this week, the decor was very cool – rustic and vintage but yet still very modern.
This was right after we had an amazing brunch at Zak’s Cafe, where they make the best Nutella cappuccinos. Nutella. Cappuccino. Yes, it was everything that you would imagine it would be. It’s funny because the hubs and I are trying to be really good with eating because we are going to be on a beach in a couple of weeks, and my idea of dieting is eating a bit less of everything I would normally eat (which is everything) and his idea is eating really healthy food, but still eating a ton of it. I’m all about quality, not quantity! Bring on the cheese curds…
About the look, I’ve built quite the collection of denim and chambray tops, they are really so versatile I find myself going back to them all the time. I can always plan on bringing one with me when I travel because year round, there is always a way to wear them. Over a dress, skirt, shorts, or even more denim. My favorites are from J.Crew, but H&M, Target, and Forever 21 have some great options as well.
Now back to my least favorite part of traveling, unpacking!
