Happy St. Patty’s Day! St. Patricks Day in Chicago is a huge event, the entire weekend preceding the date begins the party! I was at a lovely Mia Bossi brunch event Saturday morning and I could feel the energy of the hoards of people on the street clad head-to-toe in green. I had to rush home to prepare for Adam’s birthday party the next day, he turned three years old!
It’s a crazy, busy, stressful, blissful, amazing ride having kids – one minute you want to pull your hair out, the next you are full of joy beyond comprehension! I’m always reminding myself to remember to appreciate it all because in a blink it will all have passed by…
As I put together this outfit idea, I immediately thought of Miranda from The Devil Wears Prada saying ‘Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.’ Haha. Pastels and florals are often synonymous with Spring style, and I say if it ain’t broke, why fix it? I’ve been particularly fond of mint and lavender shades, and I can’t stop wearing this top! I wear it with jeans to be casual and over a pencil skirt for work. The high slit in the sides keeps it from looking frumpy, but it is still long and wide so it has a very modern boxy style.
There are a lot of floral pumps out there that I have been lusting over. These are one of those, but there are a few even more affordable options I’ve picked out below. I love a great statement shoe paired with simple basics. Instead of wearing your regular blue jeans, swap it out for white for a fresh look – it is a small change but it makes a big difference!
By the way, I finally taught myself how to do collages in photoshop with the help of this fabulous website. What do you think? I can’t wait to play around with layers and make even better outfit posts and product collages on the blog!
Have a great week!
