I answer a lot of fashion related questions from readers and personal friends, so I thought I would start a new series here called “Ask Zahra” where you can ask me anything and I will answer it for you!
Today’s question is something I’m sure a lot of girls can relate to!
Q: I really want a Rebecca Minkoff cross body bag because I am going to a lot of concerts this summer and I want my hands free, however I have big boobs and I feel like the strap settles on my chest in a weird way. Is there any other type of low-maintenance style bag I could use as an alternative?
-Sana, New York
A: Hi Sana, first I’d suggest trying a cross-body bag that has a strap that is thin, less than 2 inches wide. Also try wearing it with a couple of layers of clothing, like a tank and a vest or light cardigan so that the strap isn’t so prominent. If you still feel uncomfortable, skip the cross-body style altogether and try a backpack (a super hot trend right now) or a bucket style bag that is easily worn over one shoulder. Check out my picks below for some inspiration!
1. Loeffler Randall – I’d suggest this bag not only because Saint Laurent and Prada have a similar style I’m in love with that is exponentially more expensive, but because it is such a cute statement piece in a bag. Fringe was huge on the runways, but at the same time I think this style isn’t too trendy where it will ever go out of style.
2. Aimee Kestenberg – I’ve recently been introduced to the Aussie designer who brings a unique sense of cool and wearable edge, something I’m always on the lookout for.
3. Fossil – I love the thin straps on this bag, it reminds me of this lust-worthy bag for a fraction of the price. It comes in a few colors and just has a very minimalist chic vibe.
4. Banana Republic – I wrote about this bag once before, way back in March in this post, but it is now on sale so even more reason to pick it up!
