Elie Tahari made a special appearance at Neiman Marcus Chicago, for a small fashion presentation of his Spring line. I was, of course, beyond excited to meet the designer because I have been a long time fan and consumer of his clothing. He was so sweet and even complimented my shoes which pretty much made my day.
Here’s an instagram pic of us having a little fun after the interview:
My outfit: Fringe vest by Elie Tahari | Pants: Trouve | Shoes: Zara (not pictured)
This season’s theme is “shipwrecked/high-tech/sun bleached” so think frayed/fringed edges, weathered materials, and colors that you would find in nature. Suede is also making a big appearance for Spring, in much lighter forms like fringe. I especially loved the mesh, neoprene, and leather fabrics used and mixed together to make for a cool sporty and slightly edgy touch to pieces that are instant classics.
I’m wearing one of my favorite pieces, this fringe vest which is available in store at Neiman Marcus Michigan Avenue.
Also launched this season, a sport line that is all about luxurious pieces you can wear anywhere. He calls it “washed cashmere”, where it is both comfortable and elegant. It is more about having movement than it is just being comfortable for the sake of comfort.

What’s next for Elie Tahari? He just launched an eyewear line and has plans for tabletop – China and Stemware- in the very near future.
