Five years of marriage and one baby in, I’ve learned it is key to make time for your spouse in the form of date nights, weekend trips, or even just the occasional work week lunch date. After Adam was born, we actually went a whole year without a date night because whenever weekends rolled around we found it to be too late to book a sitter and make dinner reservations. So we realized we need to schedule it as a priority or it just wouldn’t happen on account of our sheer laziness.
Today’s look is from our date night this past weekend. When we go out, I always try to make a special effort in dressing up, since 99% of the time he sees me in loungewear with no makeup. I got this adorable book clutch from Heritage S – and worked the entire outfit around it. Of course I had to match my lip to the clutch (of course!). The book clutch is available in a few different styles, including a pretty floral and french print that I love. The dress is actually a top by Sania Maskatiya, also from Heritage S boutique. I chose to belt it because I wanted a cinched waist, but otherwise it is supposed to be worn loose – I absolutely love the playful print and one shoulder detail.
