The bomber jacket is one of my must have styles for Fall – it has a certain casual vibe to it but looks equally cool and nonchalant (if a jacket could be described as ‘nonchalant’ this would be the one) over a party dress, as we just recently saw Elie Saab’s Spring 2016 Ready to Wear collection. Historically the style was created for military men but later favored by more of a rebellious and punk youth culture of the 80’s, which pretty much solidified its cool-factor in the fashion world. Even now it is a favorite of artists and musicians like Kanye West, who – side note – even dresses little baby North in them (adorable)! I’d even venture to say it has bypassed the blazer as a closet essential, because though a blazer is versatile, it is also a tad more formal and therefore does not exude quite the same amount of effortlessness, and isn’t that what we are all striving for really?

What really sets Lulu’s apart is their curated selection, I especially love their sweaters and outerwear. This jacket I went up a couple of sizes for the oversized look. When I go oversized on top, I like to keep the rest of the look streamlined so I paired with skinny jeans and sleek chelsea booties.
