Seeing Stars

Currently prepping for a special baby-free trip to Miami for some R&R (thanks Nana & Pappy!), and the only thing that makes packing somewhat bearable is the excitement and anticipation of going on this trip. It will actually be the first time we went away for a whole weekend since Adam was born five years ago! We’ve gone on solo trips with the other on baby duty, but this will be a first one with just the two of us, and it is very fitting because Miami was the very first vacation we took together as a couple.

Packing for a long weekend is much harder for me than for a longer trip, because I’m very aware I won’t have time to wear more than just a few outfits, so it is critical to edit wisely. But, then again there is always that fomo you get when you wish you brought something because you are no longer feeling the stuff you did bring. So it boils down to which is worse, overpacking ‘just in case’ or leaving the perfect piece behind.

On that note, everything about today’s look I’d consider a perfect piece, that to me is completely classic and worn over and over. Five things I believe are a must for everyone: a great blouse, (I’m obsessed with anything star print at the moment), a leather jacket, distressed denim, sneakers, and an amazing bag.
