Travel Style: Racerback Maxi + Sneakers

This week I’ve got travel on my mind, as we are planning a trip for the long weekend ahead. When we take short road trips, I always like to wear a maxi dress because it is really comfortable and still makes me look and feel a little more put together than wearing equally comfy sweats or yoga pants. All maxi dresses are not created equal, some fabrics wrinkle the minute you sit in them, and the one I’m wearing in this post is really great. I like to add a scarf because it can add a little warmth and even serve as a pillow if I want to take a nap along the way. My favorite is a lightweight scarf in a really soft material, in the same color family as the rest of the outfit. If you read this blog regularly, you know that monochromatic schemes are always my go-to. Now that I’m an adult I don’t toss my stuff in random shopping bags or book bags anymore, instead I love to carry a chic weekender bag like this one from Sole Society – that is just big enough to carry a few outfits, swimsuits, makeup, and toiletries. To finish it off a hat is always a good idea, especially when you don’t have time to fuss with your hair.

Adam decided not only to be in the shoot today, but he even took charge and took some of the photos! Will be sharing his photos on snapchat Have a great week! xx

There are some trees with seeds that only grow after a fire. Their seeds are completely sealed with a resin that have to be physically melted off by a great fire in order to propagate. So to do we as humans, gain wisdom only after great pain and suffering.*
A month ago (and one day) I lost my sister and best friend to cancer. I am still completely gutted and broken. But, I’m also so so grateful to have had felt the love that now brings me so much heartbreak. ❤️ I am so inspired by her - and I will forever live my life to honor her memory. Miss you sis ❤️

French. Toast. Egg. Bake. Save this recipe for a weekend or holiday brunch - it’s SO good and fool-proof! I’m not even a sweet person and I love it. The pecans are a non-negotiable IMO - I get honey bourbon vanilla pecans for this and it is just heavenly. Enjoy!

Peak Autumn beauty 🍂 These two pictures were taken only 10 days apart ~ look how much the color has changed! I love to go for a walk and admire all the gorgeous foliage - so much fun. This side of my house is officially my favorite: a mix of shrubs including hydrangea, blue spruce, beautyberry, euonymus, pine, boxwood, burning bush, viburnum, smokebush, and you can even see the Japanese maple peeking out from the backyard 🍂#fallfoliage #autumn
