Getting away somewhere close enough to drive to is always a good idea. Particularly with the added responsibility of having kids and pets, It is about the only time we get to be spontaneous about our weekends these days. We spent this past Memorial Day holiday at our family cabin up North, and as always, we had a lot of fun. Most of the time we spent on the lake or beach, and, since we had a spotty internet connection, after the second day pretty much everyone stopped bothering to check their phones. I don’t exactly how often I actually do that – but I do know its a LOT. I always feel like we are transported back in time whenever we’re there, and it is a time when days stretch out calmly because there is nothing on the to-do list but to relax. Adam didn’t even ask for his iPad once – which in itself is a small miracle.
Another miracle happened as well, I packed four entire days worth of clothes in my new weekend bag. I did fill up my beach bag with toiletries and some extra shoes, but everything else fit great.
Scroll down for more pics from the weekend, and links to what I’m wearing below. Thanks for visiting! xx
