Summer Hair Style with Hair Cuttery #MYHCLOOK

Adam and I took a trip to Hair Cuttery in Schaumburg recently to get a fresh style for summer. Years ago I chopped off my hair to about shoulder length and immediately regretted it, so I pretty much stick to my long layered hairstyle year-round. Wearing the same old hair style all of the time can get a little tired though, so I wanted to do something different – also the weather was hitting the 90’s so I wanted to pull it away from my face and neck. Walking in to the salon I met with stylist Carmela, and we discussed the types of braids she specialized in. I chose to go with boxer braids, because I loved the look, plus we were having a little backyard barbecue so I wanted something that was casual that would stay put all evening. Adam also got a haircut with stylist Sarah, and we decided to go short with a little more on top to spike up.

Adam actually thought it was so much fun getting his haircut along side me getting my hair styled – the next weekend he asked if we could go back and get another one! I told him we needed to wait for his hair to grow a bit more first. But I did actually go back myself this past weekend to the Streamwood location for a blowout and I absolutely loved it. They even had a purple shampoo that was perfect for keeping lightened hair from getting brassy.

If you are in the market for a new summer style – head to Hair Cuttery – braids start at $10 and Blowouts start at $17 (mine was $27 because of the length).
