Today we are kicking off a brand new Blogger Nation series featuring one of my absolute favorite brands, particularly for summer wear, Tommy Bahama. In this post I’m sharing my must-have summer essentials, and let me tell you both of today’s looks are pretty much my definition of summer style.
If you aren’t already familiar with Blogger Nation, each season I team up with five of my favorite bloggers from across the country and we choose a select a group of brands that we love, ranging from clothes to jewelry and beauty, to feature on our blogs. So every week for the next few weeks, expect a new post featuring our latest picks!
So I’ve lived in Chicago over ten years now, and I think that means I can call myself a Chicagoan right? We Chicagoans like to savor every single bit of sunshine and warm weather we actually get, so naturally our family spends a lot of our summer staycationing at our family cabin on the lake, or taking day trips to the park or beach. With our much more relaxed summer lifestyle, there are a few things I always choose to wear, and that is: loose fitting lightweight fabrics in light colors. I also love wearing slide sandals and my friend recently bought me a pair of Custom Slide Sandal. They’re so awesome and they’re great to wear in the hot weather! I basically love everything that keeps me cool and compliments that fresh summer tan. My summer must-haves:
- White ‘Boyfriend’ Jeans – When it is hot, I like to swap out the skinny jeans for boyfriend fit, for a chic casual look like I’ve done here pair with slide sandals, or for an evening look, wear with a strappy high-heeled sandal.
- Eyelet – tops, dresses, shorts – anything in eyelet screams summer to me. Here I’ve picked this showstopper blouse that has a beautiful eyelet design on the sleeves and the front.
- Soft knits – This sweater halter top has a nautical vibe with the rope tie at the neck. I love that it hits at the hip so it fits my long torso. I’d also just as easily wear this over a skirt or slacks for the office
What are some of your favorites for summer?
