Here in the states the brand CAT is mostly known for its trucks, and also tough work clothes and steel-toe boots, but I’m telling you right now, that is all about to change. A few weeks ago I was invited to attend a press preview of CAT Footwear’s current and upcoming shoe lines for men and women, and I was blown away by what I saw. What really impressed me was both the history of the brand and the thoughtfulness and process that goes into the design.
You all know I love a good brand story, and CAT has a great one. The hashtag #Earthmover is used because CAT, if you aren’t already aware, is a company that has literally built structures all over the world with their earth moving trucks and equipment. I was surprised to learn they are already well known for fashion all around the world – like there are already CAT boutiques in major shopping centers. As far as the design process, a lot of attention to detail and precision goes into the creation of the footwear and clothing. Right now they are creating designs that are going to go in to production in two years, once everything is tested and approved. In this fast fashion world that we live in, that is a huge stride in the right direction for quality over quantity.
But even a great brand story and design process alone is nothing without some great shoes, am i right? I am in love with these leather lace up boots that I’ve styled in today’s post. The boot itself has an edgy vibe with the metal detail, but its the the lace up feature that makes it really cool and timeless. These boots also come in a distressed brown color called ‘peanut’ and a distressed light grey color called ‘pewter’, which is perfect for a more casual or country style- but I just loved the ‘rock and roll’ look of the black ones. They are also incredibly lightweight which is so important to me, especially now being pregnant – I have enough weight to lug around on my own! Check out the full women’s collection here.
Thanks so much for visiting as always xx
