Ruffles

The thought of wearing ruffles used to horrify me, bringing back memories of 1990’s pastel colored tiered ruffled dresses I was forced to wear for birthdays, picture day, and Eid. Ruffles have come along way since those days, however, and this sweater is a welcome new addition to my wardrobe – the ruffles are flirty and not overbearing. I love that it can be worn casual with jeans or dressed up with trousers or even a skirt. The style is trendy but at the same time very subtle – so it fits perfectly in my wear-for-all-seasons category in my wardrobe. It also satisfies my inner-most craving to be a total girly girl…

If there is one trend bandwagon this season that I’d recommend jumping on, its the ruffle.

Side note: If you are bigger on top and think this won’t work for you, try balancing out your silhouette with straight leg jeans like I’m doing, or even a wide leg or flare.  Or get something where the ruffles are lower on the top, like around the ribcage or waist. Trust me, you can definitely pull off this look!

As always, thank you for visiting ~ Let me know if you are obsessed with any other current trends!
