Denim Tunic Dress

First off, I’m so pumped by the support I’m getting after I shared a life update with my Instagram followers. I posted a pic doing an open mic at the Laugh Factory, because…(drumroll) I recently decided to try out stand-up comedy. At first I was scared to share with anyone because I was worried about being judged. Then I got over it. I mean, my New Year’s resolution was to ‘be my authentic self’ – and so I decided, why not?! If I am terrible and not funny and get booed off stage so often that I end up quitting altogether, at least I’ll have a fun story to tell when I’m 80.

I’m currently taking a class at Second City and also doing open mic’s weekly. I was really encouraged to give it a shot after I met a hilarious and super cool Chicago comic named Sabeen. Now I’m glad I did share publicly because I feel even more motivated to continue to do and share more about it. I’m still doing everything else I do around here, blogging about personal style, beauty and life in general, but now I’m just going to have to also make time for my newest endeavor. Stay tuned for more on that!

On to the look: I’m always attracted to outfits that look effortless and comfortable as well as chic. I just don’t have the time nor patience to be uncomfortable no matter how cute the look is.  A simple denim tunic is the perfect casual piece for every woman – wear year round as a top over pants or as a dress. I find myself reaching for this dress so often especially since it is so warm out. Seriously loving a Fall that feels like Summer!

Also – this weekend is the last weekend the Takashi Murakami exhibition is open and I’m still not sure if I will be able to catch it, but I am trying! It is a constant struggle for me to make time for the myriad of things I love. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t into so many things – life would be much simpler! Be sure to check it out if you are in Chicago – have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by ~
xx
