Cooking With My Mom + Q&A

Making meatball curry and asking mom all the important questions like – what does she think about my youtube channel? And – how do you keep your house from being curry scented?

Side note: This recipe ended up being Sophia’s favorite food to date. She couldn’t get enough! She’s not into bland simple foods like Adam is – she must have got that from her Pakistani side!

Here’s the recipe:

4 lbs Ground Chicken

4 medium Onions (diced)

4 tomatoes

10 cloves of garlic

2 tablespoons fresh ginger (chopped)

1 bunch Cilantro

1 Jalapeno pepper (if desired)

Spices: salt turmeric ground coriander ground cumin whole cumin seeds red chili pepper garam masala

For curry: Brown onions in oil and set aside 1/2 cup to add to meatballs add Tomatoes, garlic, ginger, turmeric, coriander, red chili powder, ground cumin, some water. Stir, top with lid and let simmer while you make meatballs.

Meatballs: In a large bowl, add (the previously set aside) fried onions, garlic, ginger, cumin seeds, salt, turmeric, red chili, ground coriander, chopped fresh cilantro and jalapeno pepper to the ground chicken. mix to combine. Form balls with hands oiled up a bit. After checking to see the curry is not too dry, if it is add a little water., then top pan with lid (handle down) and start placing meatballs on lid as you form them.

Note: This step is totally not required but it helps keep meatballs from falling apart and it also looks cool IMO. When you are done you can also take a blender and cream the contents of the pan for a smoother curry. Then add meatballs and cook.

Approximately 10 mins of cook time, but double check to see they are cooked through. Enjoy ~~~~~
