Introducing: Love Beauty And Planet

love-beauty-planet By far the easiest way to help save the planet.

What Is Love, Beauty, and Planet?

Love, Beauty, & Planet is an eco-friendly line of shampoo, conditioners, and body washes created with the planet in mind. The company has six goals they want to accomplish in the short term:

  • Responsible ingredient sourcing
  • Reducing waste – bottles are made from 100% recycled bottles
  • Saving water – conditioner even has fast-rinse technology – yes, thats a thing!
  • Reducing carbon footprint – by donating a self-imposed carbon tax
  • Supporting environmentalists
  • Creating new and innovative products every year

There are both hair and skin products, all priced anywhere between $3-$9. When sustainable goes to mass market, its definitely a sign we are all moving in the right direction. I was so excited to be one of the early testers of this line that I have been using consistently since December.

The entire range includes the following fragrance families: Coconut & Ylang Ylang, Tea Tree & Vetiver, Coconut Water & Mimosa Flower, Argan Oil & Lavender, Shea Butter & Sandalwood, and Murumuru Butter & Rose.

I opted for the Murumuru Butter & Rose line, which is best for color treated hair. It is made with Amazonian murumuru butter and Bulgarian rose petal. I’m obsessed with anything rose scented so I knew I’d love at least that part of it. I can’t stand when a scent is too overpowering, and i was very happy to find the rose was fresh and light.

But does it work?

The shampoo and conditioner left my hair feeling soft and silky. I use a lot of high-end (and much higher priced) products and I would say these are on par with those in terms of performance. I know that the conditioner has a fast-rinse technology but I can’t say I noticed a huge difference in the time it took me to rinse. I loved the body wash so much and I felt like the rose scent mixed with the shower steam made me feel like I was having a luxurious spa experience.

Overall I was very impressed. First off, the company eco-friendly mission isn’t just a marketing tactic – everything from the formula ingredients to the packaging recycling is a part of an intentional strategy to align with their sustainability goals and with companies like Impacked providing things like wholesale packaging caps and other forms of packaging then it is easier than ever for companies to make the switch to more sustainable materials. Most importantly though, the products really work, and the accessible price point is going to make it even easier for more people looking to shop ethical beauty. Because if everything else was equal, who wouldn’t choose beauty products that also help save the planet?
