Last week we took a few days off of work and took a mini break, a few days at an indoor water park, then the weekend at our family lake house in Wisconsin. I was really pressed for time and suitcase space as always, so I packed really light almost by accident. I think my days of over packing my suitcase ‘just in case’ are over. For four days and five nights I packed: swimsuits, two pairs of jeans – blue and grey, a denim top, a soft knit sweater, a striped t-shirt, and a black cardigan. I also packed one pair of booties, snow boots, socks and undies, and a couple of pieces of jewelry. I actually packed more pairs of pajamas than clothing!
We had a ton of fun first pretending it was summer, playing in the water with our little daredevil, then at the cabin we went full on winter fun, with Adam’s first ride on the sled and my first shot at cross country skiing. Now I’m just trying to set a date for our next trip! Always living for the weekends I guess…
About the look, as much as I love wearing denim on denim for a casual look- always making sure they are different shades of blue of course – I really like grey jeans with a blue denim or chambray top. Grey is a little different than the standard blue jeans, and much, much easier to wear (and keep clean!) than white.
