Curate The Perfect Wardrobe With Lyst

Before I started blogging I was pretty much a textbook impulse shopper. Fueled by the excitement of a big sale, an emotional event like a break-up, or maybe even just a certain time of the month, I was always shopping for the thrill that only retail therapy can bring.

But then I realized I just owned a bunch of stuff I liked but nothing that I was in love with.  So in order to change that I started to take stock of what I really wanted, and buy only those items. I am now working on slowly curating my closet with the pieces that I know I will cherish for a long time.

One tool I use to help me achieve my dream closet is Lyst. Lyst is a website where you search for and tag your favorite items from every major retailer, creating a “lyst” that you can shop and even share your “lyst” with your followers. You can search by the type of item, the brand, or even by percentage off of sale. The best part though, you will get alerted when your favorite item is on sale, or even when a sold out item is back in stock!

That is how I finally got my Christian Louboutin Pigalle 120’s a while back. Once I got my Lyst alert I snagged them – and it was a good thing because they were completely sold out the next day!

Here’s an example of the site below where I’ve searched for all items by Acne Studios. I can filter by categories like retailer, % off sale, price range, and item type. (That shearling coat is about to go on my wish Lyst right now!)

As a blogger, using Lyst is very helpful because it is easy to store and grab images to create outfit collages and then remind readers when a particular item you posted is back in stock.

This look below sums up everything I want to wear this Spring, once we are eventually relieved of this Arctic freeze!

Check out all of these items and more on my Lyst! User name is LoveZahra.

Bag: Gucci | Skirt: Intermix | Jacket: Marissa Webb | Sunnies: Ray-Ban | Sandals: Sergio Rossi | Ring: De Anna Kiernan |

The python Gucci bag is dreamy. It is the ‘pop of something’ that will also go perfectly well with everything you already own. Like the skirt, all things suede and fringe are hot at the moment and after returning from NYFW, I can say it is here to stay for a bit. It is really nice to have a sturdy fabric like suede in Spring while it is still slightly chilly, and the fringe keeps it light, and also keeps it from looking too “Fall”. The Marissa Webb jacket has the most flattering shape and is perfect for layering. I am also currently eyeing espadrilles in every form, and these Sergio Rossi pair are a classic style, made fresh with a patent leather. Rethink the classic Ray-Ban in a pastel shade, and add an architectural cocktail ring to polish off this look.
